The Monarch Award
Children need to read or listen to five books from a list
of twenty titles. Once completed, the child will vote for his or her
favorite. Children in grades K-2 will
hear five stories before voting time at the end of February.
Children in grade 3 will be on their own to read or listen to the
books. Voting will take place in the library,
during the third week of February. The public library will provide
gifts for students as they read 5, 10, 15, and 20 books from the list.
