District 118 Water Testing Results

Water Testing Results

Wauconda CUSD 118 is committed to providing facilities that are safe and healthy for students to learn. Part of ensuring a healthy learning environment is making sure our water sources are clean and safe for consumption. As of January 2017, the State of Illinois now requires all public and private schools occupied by more than 10 students in grades preschool through fifth grade to test all sources of potable water for lead. All school buildings constructed before 1987 are required to be tested by December 31, 2017. Any buildings built between 1987 and 2000 need to be tested by December 31, 2018. In compliance with this new law, Wauconda Grade School and Robert Crown School were tested in 2017 and Cotton Creek School was tested in early 2018. Furthermore, mitigation efforts have been initiated to provide the best possible drinking water for our students and staff. The results of the water testing and letters documenting the results and our mitigation efforts may be found below:
