Exploratory Classes at MMS
Exploratory Philosophy
To best meet the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of middle school students, the Wauconda Community Unit District #118 Exploratory program encourages children to harness their natural curiosity and introduce them to a wide range of academic, vocational, and recreational subjects including Art, College & Careers, Health, Next-Gen Skills, Cultural Global Studies and STEM. By expanding an understanding of themselves, their community, and their potential as learners, we broaden our students’ view of education and its perceived relevance to their life today and tomorrow. Exploratory courses meet for a nine week rotation. There are four rotations per school year.
Exploratory classes that meet for a full school year include Band & Choir.
